about
“Y.F.F.G.” or “Your Fall From Grace”: a “rebellious love song” which is as close to a love song as Fudge.’s current style will possibly allow. It’s a more authentic and palpable love song though, one that is free from the more idealistic romantic contexts and cliques we are all too used to with the average pop and rock songs. This song unearths the less glamorous, yet more common aspects of the day-to-day relationship and highlights the angst of anticipating the future when you should really be enjoying the now. Fudge. are (by their standards) more restrained here and this pays off in allowing the narrative to come through and steal your attention for a bit. However, come the chorus, Fudge. have provided us with another ‘mover and shaker’; a song which anyone can and should get up and move to. But you don’t necessarily have to with this one, it’s by no means something you can sit back and relax to, but rather, a tune you should sit back and engage with because, chances are, there is something in it that we can all relate to.
lyrics
If you knew you could, would you go back baby?
One day maybe?
The wrong way, save me. Everything in life ain’t what it seems is it?
Face to name give it,
I’ll wait forever, come around.
You wondered what it’s like living so reckless, how?
But the life you live can’t build on your conscience now.
If you ever find the time to release what’s in your mind,
I think you should.
If you knew you could, would you lately?
I saw the signs take me.
Feel the power in me. Pick me up and put me down with it,
face to name give it,
I feel my hands are shaking now.
Nothing’s gonna stop my head from spinning,
I won’t let them stop your face from grinning.
That's when they’ll move you too.
Nothing’s gonna stop my head from spinning,
I won’t let them stop your face from grinning,
so you just let me know if they want to get in our way.
Chew off your face stay at my place,
forget about taking it slow.
Regret no mistakes cus your fall from grace,
is nothing compared to you now.
Nothing’s gonna stop my head from spinning,
I won’t let them stop your face from grinning.
That’s when they’ll move you too.
